Bruce Rhodes (Lead Pastor)

Pastor Bruce has been married to his wife Jerilynn for nearly 30 years. They have three children: Daniel who is a sergeant in the USMC, Rebecca who is employed in student development at Fresno Pacific University in California, and Joshua who is a senior at Milan High School.

Pastor Bruce became our senior pastor in 2009. He was ordained in 1986 and has served several churches in the Southern Michigan Conference: Chelsea, Garden City, Warren Rd. Light & Life, and Kalamazoo. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Philosophy/Religion at Spring Arbor College in 1982. He earned his Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1986. He continues to teach as an adjunct professor for Spring Arbor University.

Besides his love for pastoring, Pastor Bruce and Jerilynn enjoy several outdoor hobbies together. They love to travel on their Honda Goldwing motorcycle, they love fishing, archery and firearm hunting, camping and traveling together across the U.S.

Scott Galena (Associate Pastor)

Pastor Scott was born and raised in Denver, CO. He has been married to his wife Sharon for 17 amazing years. Sharon is a "small town" girl from Iowa. They have two children: a daughter, Kyler, who is nine years old and a son, Joe, who is seven.

Pastor Scott loves being a pastor and has been involved in a variety of ministry roles in the River Conference of the Free Methodist Church and with the Evangelical Free Church since 1998. He received his Master of Divinity degree with a leadership emphasis in 2008 from Denver Seminary and was ordained in May the following year. Pastor Scott is the newest staff member at Ypsi Free. Accepting God's call to serve in Michigan in late 2011, he and his family relocated to Ypsilanti in January of 2012.

Pastor Scott and family love camping, fishing, and spending time together any way they can. If you keep a sharp lookout, in warmer weather you're sure to see Pastor Scott and Co. tooling around town on their motorcycle.
