Children's Ministries Volunteer Needs

Please Note: all these positions are subject to the completion of a Next Generation Volunteer Application (426 Kb PDF document, will open in a new window), completed Backgound Check Authorization, and an interview by the Next Generation Ministries Pastor. (Background Check Authorizations do not apply to individuals under the age of 18.)

Nursery Staff - No one under the age of 16. Anyone under 18 years old will not/cannot change diapers. We prefer to coordinate newer parents together to share this ministry.

Preschool Assistants - this person/couple will help the preschool lead person on a rotating basis to assist in the execution of the lesson plans and activities.

3 and 4 Year Old Sunday Morning staff - this person/couple will serve our 3 and 4 year old children with the curriculum provided. They must be prepared for Sunday morning and will have received the weeks lesson, a week prior. They will serve in one of the 2 services on Sunday mornings.

Youth Helper Administrator - this person/couple will schedule youth helpers as to where and when they will serve in the kids ministry. They will also be responsible for any correction of the kids if they are not where they should be.

Youth Helpers - teen assistants to the point staff person within the kids ministry. They will assistant in whatever the lead staff person needs. According to Michigan Law for childcare centers, anyone under the age of 16 cannot work in the nursery. We will uphold the same standards. Anyone under 18 years old cannot/will not change diapers.

Kid’s Connection (Sunday Morning K-5) Lead staff - this person/couple will coordinate staffing schedules and will work together with the youth helper administrator to make sure positions are filled. They will also be responsible for the signing in of kids on Sunday mornings, and make sure they are dismissed to their parents. They will be responsible for the distribution of lesson plans to other leaders a week in advance as well as lead Kid’s Connection during one service.

Kid’s Connection staff - this person/couple will serve in either a lead or support position. The lead will be responsible for being prepared for Sunday lessons and activities and will work with a team of individuals. The support person will assist in a capacity where they are actively engaging the kids and helping the lead person.

Family Connection staff - this person/couple will work with a team to execute our Wednesday night Family Connection Program. They will be held accountable by the Family Connection Lead and Next Generation Ministries Pastor. They will be part of a fun and dynamic program including performing arts and fun as they communicate God’s love for families.
